This group is purely for parents / carers of children with diabetes.

Having a child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes can be a frightening experience. We already have an established and recognised email support & discussion group which has been running since 2002 which you can find on our website www.childrenwithdiabetesuk.org. By joining our facebook group and/or CWD email support and discussion group, you will be put you in touch with other families who are raising children with diabetes. Both forums are open to anybody who wants to discuss all of the personal and scientific aspects of this condition and how it affects their family’s lives.

The aims of this facebook group is to help to offer mutual support and advice to all families of children and young people with type 1 diabetes. UK CWD AG are a patient led, not for profit organisation, who work with other Diabetes organisations such as Diabetes UK, JDRF, DRWF. We aim to raise awareness of the issues regarding all aspects of T1D.

Diabetes UK Support Forum

The Diabetes UK Support Forum is for everyone with diabetes, whatever type it may be, and for their families and carers.

One of the best ways to gain new knowledge and information about diabetes is through sharing the experiences of other people with the condition. You may not feel that you need advice, but you may be in a position to give it, and to help others.

Although anyone can read the conversations on the Support Forum, if you want to ask or reply to questions, or offer advice of your own, you’ll need to join. It’s free to sign up, and you don’t need to use your real name if you don’t want to.

T1 Resources

Improving the lives of people living with type 1 diabetes by introducing them to the wide range of resources and support that are available online.

Living with type 1 diabetes isn’t easy and it can be quite a lonely and isolating experience. T1resources.uk grew out of a conversation between people with diabetes and healthcare professionals who had been using online resources and communities as part of their type 1 toolkit for a number of years. People who had seen what a positive effect this information and support can have in improving self-management and generally making type 1 diabetes a little bit easier to live with.

T1resources.uk was designed as a set of signposts. Not comprehensive by any means, but a useful starting point for anyone wanting to begin to explore social media and online information to help them manage type 1 diabetes. We believe that for everyone, there is a unique, happy corner of the internet with a select number of resources, channels and communities from among the bewildering array available.
